Jim Burns, 49, of Souderton, Pa., is walking from Philadelphia to Ann Arbor to raise money for The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and The ChadTough Foundation. The almost-600-mile walk will take place over five weeks.
The initiative is rooted in Burns’ desire to make an impact toward a cause after he had a near-death experience in February of 2015.
“I realized that I had to find a cause. I was given a second chance and I want to make the lives of others better,” says Burns. “Then, I saw the story on Chad Carr. I knew I found my cause, or causes, if you will.”
All proceeds will be split between The ChadTough Foundation and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP).
