Collaborating for a Cure

May 10-11, 2024 in Ann Arbor

This event is a forum for DIPG/DMG researchers to collaborate, especially on unpublished work, to accelerate our path to a cure. It is also an opportunity for DIPG/DMG families that partner with our foundation to get updates on recent advancements and network with researchers.

Registration will be limited to physicians and researchers; there is no registration fee to join. If you’d like to join us, please submit a request for an invitation here.

All DIPG/DMG researchers are invited to participate in a day of plenary talks, presentations and workshops including breakout sessions on immune therapy/cancer neuroscience, metabolism, and clinical/correlates. We will also have participation/interaction with NIH leadership and high-tier journal editors.

Researchers and ChadTough Defeat DIPG Partners are invited to join our founders for a strolling dinner reception intended to encourage networking and informal discussions.

Researchers and Foundation Partners are invited to attend this morning session to hear an update from the 2024 Chad Carr Spirit Award Winner, Dr. Michelle Monje. Attendees will then get a chance to learn about the Friday breakout session findings.

Keynote Speaker: Dr. Michelle Monje

Dr. Michelle Monje is a Professor at Stanford University in the Department of Neurology and, by courtesy, the Departments of Pediatrics, Pathology and Neurosurgery; a member of the Stanford Child Health Research Institute, Stanford Institute of Stem Cell Biology, the Stanford Cancer Institute and the Stanford Neuroscience Institute; and a practicing neurologist and pediatric neuro-oncologist at the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford.

Dr. Monje’s research group studies the molecular and cellular mechanisms of postnatal neurodevelopment and pediatric glioma pathogenesis, with an emphasis on microenvironmental contributions to glioma pathogenesis, with a long-standing focus on DIPG.

Part 2: Celebrate

While the research portion of the event will conclude by noon on Saturday, there will also be an opportunity to join us that evening for our 6th annual ChadTough Defeat DIPG Gala.
