Caroline O’Brien
Caroline O’Brien, a beach girl from Connecticut, was diagnosed with DIPG in 2009 at the age of 10. The oldest of four kids, Caroline was a responsible, silly, fun-loving and dedicated sister, daughter, cousin and friend.
She battled DIPG the only way she knew how- with determination, strength and humor.
Toward the end of her life, Caroline and her family started Caroline’s Miracle Foundation. The original purpose of the foundation was to raise money to find “the right” medicine to cure this horrible illness, but Caroline herself adjusted the mission because, in her words, she wanted to “help kids with brain tumors do really fun things!”
Chad Carr was one of the kids Caroline’s Foundation helped do just that. When in NYC for treatment, CMF was able to send Chad to the circus to enjoy time away from the hospital. CMF also provided tickets for The Carr Family to see Aladdin when Chad’s brothers came to NYC.
We are proud to join the efforts of ChadTough, as they continue to fund research to cure DIPG.
