Katie Bednarek

January 24, 1996 – February 11, 2015

Katie Bednarek was a 19 year old young lady who battled a DIPG brain stem tumor. She passed away February 11, 2015 after an inspiring, graceful and brave 17 month battle. She was diagnosed in September 2013, a few weeks into her senior year of high school. She was a 2014 graduate of Cherokee High School in Marlton, NJ. She was a member of the Cherokee Girls Lacrosse Team and a member of the National Honor Society. She was crowned Prom Queen at the 2014 Prom by her loving classmates. She loved the beach, country music and hanging out with her friends.

Kate never gave up HOPE and lived each day for the next, inspiring many with her optimistic outlook and hopeful attitude. When asked how she wanted to be remembered she said as Brave, Beautiful and Brilliant. And she was ALL of those and so much more.

She is forever loved and missed by her Mom, Dad, younger Brother, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and the Marlton Community, especially her Lacrosse “sisters.”
