Diagnosed: January 15, 2016

Shortly before Christmas, Parker Monhollon’s parents noticed some symptoms in their 8 year-old daughter Parker’s eye.  Shortly thereafter, on January 15, 2016, an MRI confirmed that Parker has DIPG (diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma).  She is from Silver Lake, Kansas, but she has been receiving radiation treatment at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  An amazing young lady who is inspiring thousands, Parker has been posting regular video messages to educate people about DIPG and show how she is doing to her friends back home while she is away for treatment.  Her bravery and fighting spirit is amazing.

Parker has drawn support from so many — including her fellow dancers, sports celebrities, and many more.  Parker’s dreams include meeting dancer Kaycee Rice, being on the Ellen Show, going to the San Diego Zoo, going on a real date, visiting the ocean, building a sand-castle, swimming with the dolphins, meeting Eminem, and a backyard makeover oasis.

Parker LeAnn Monhollon, 9, of Silver Lake, passed away on July 10, 2017 in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico, following an 18 month battle with DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma), a form of brain cancer. (Source: Penwell-Gabel)

You can learn more about Parker on her Facebook page.
