Kambria was diagnosed with DIPG after a month of experiencing dizziness. We were told we would most likely have a honeymoon period after radiation with little to no symptoms but Kambria didn’t get that lucky. It seemed that Kambria experienced different symptoms which seemed like monthly but she handled every hurdle she was thrown at with grace and strength. Kambria always found the positive in her situation and was eager to find a new way to do things or giggle it off and accepted help from others.
Kambria created a bucket list near the end and two really stood out. She wanted to help the less fortunate, especially homeless and send gifts to children with cancer. Throughout her fight we would follow other DIPG kids or others with cancer and she was always worried about how they were doing.
Kambria defeated DIPG on September 18, 2021 just 9 months after diagnosis. She was looking forward to meeting Jesus and her Gumpy (grandpa) that she never met.
One quote that Kambria wrote during her fight really stuck with me. “Don’t forget that life is tough, but God has you.”
