Team ChadTough is the Endurance Fundraising (or athletic) branch of The ChadTough Foundation which allows individuals to fundraise for The ChadTough Foundation, while being a part of our team.
What sports can I participate in as part of Team ChadTough?
Team ChadTough athletes run, walk, bike and swim (or a combination of all) in various endurance events, such as half marathons, marathons, and triathlons. With that being said, being a part of our team is not limited to races. You could also elect to register for a long distance hike!
Who can join Team ChadTough?
We welcome individuals of all ability levels. With hard work and determination you will reach your goal and finish your race. Many first-timers have completed their race and fundraising successfully.
How do I apply to join Team ChadTough?
It is easy to join Team ChadTough through our website. When joining Team ChadTough you have two options:
Register for one of the races for which we currently have entries available. These races allow you to participate in sold out or popular races.
I want to apply for one of the race entries you have available. Is there a fundraising minimum?
Yes, there is a fundraising minimum. The fundraising minimums vary by race. You can find more information about the race you are interested in by clicking here. A fundraising coach is available to work with you to share ideas on how you can reach your goal.
Is there a deadline for meeting my fundraising minimums?
Yes. If you are seeking one of the ChadTough entries, you must raise at least $200 by the registration deadline. The deadline to meet your fundraising commitment is 2 weeks prior to your race. We understand that this may be the most money you have ever attempted to raise and we are here to help you every step of the way!
What if I do not meet my fundraising commitment prior to my event?
If you are unable to meet your fundraising commitment prior to your event, you will have 4 weeks (28 days) post event to reach your fundraising commitment. If at 28 days, your minimum still has not been met, YOUR CREDIT CARD WILL BE CHARGED for any outstanding difference between your fundraising commitment and the amount you raise. Team members will be notified via email the exact amount to be charged prior to the actual charge.
Will I have help fundraising?
Yes! Every runner has the support and help of our fundraising coach, from your first donation, to the day you exceed your minimum. In addition, the Team ChadTough Program has a library of tools and tips that each runner can access at the bottom of our Team ChadTough page.
Will donations from matching gifts by my company count towards my minimum?
Yes! Many corporations have matching gift programs. A matching gift is a great opportunity to double an initial donation. Be sure everyone you know asks their place of employment if this benefit is available to them. Any gift received by the fundraising deadline will count towards your minimum.
What happens if I cannot participate in my event?
If you are unable to participate in your race for any reason and you have signed an agreement with Team ChadTough to reach a fundraising minimum, we require that you reach the minimum. Our current race partners do not allow us to transfer entries. In addition, registration fees are non-refundable.
Will my donors get a tax receipt?
Yes. The ChadTough Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization. Donors will receive a tax receipt and thank you letter for their donation.
How do I get to the race city and where do I stay?
You are responsible for your own transportation and lodging. As a member of our team, you will have access to specially priced hotel rates in some cities.
